18 July 2013 – Derby

After a lazy morning coffee with the Harris’s, they had packed up and left for Broome, so I got cracking with a full clean out of the red dust within the van.  I stripped underlays, sheets, quilts, pillowcases, etc and washed everything including a few loads of clothes… it is fantastic to feel clean again.  Josh did a bit of running around trying to fix a few odd bits too such as the fused hot water switch and a cracked water pipe.  Eventually, late this afternoon, we went down to the jetty (it was around low tide) – just in time to see another great sunset, and then headed to the local Woolworths to stock up on some much needed food.  After the shopping we went across the road to fuel up, and there was a bit of commotion – an aboriginal women who was emptying rubbish from the bins and hurling abuse at passerbys – it was a bit confronting for the kids so they were sure to have their car doors locked whilst Josh filled up.
