1 January 2013 –
still in Sydney (last day at Kurmond)
There were lots of bodies lying about this morning and
slowly they all rose and collaborated back on the deck to reminisce about the
night before (or what we could remember of it anyway). It was a very lazy morning in the extreme
heat today to recover from our awesome celebrations last night. Lots of bacon and eggs were cooked by Josh
(T) to soak up the alcohol from the night before. The slushy machines were set back up minus
any alcohol and we nearly got through about 20 litres of these cordial slushies. Slowly, people packed up and headed back to
their own homes – except for us of course as this was our home for another
day. We eventually found the energy to
do like a small stocktake of what was in the caravan to ensure that we weren’t
leaving anything behind. Tonight we went
out for dinner to Windsor Leagues Club with our family for the final
farewells. It was a little on the
upsetting side for some but in the end we managed to walk away and set our
thoughts to what lies ahead. Upon
returning to our van at the Turner’s, we sent the kids off to a tent for their
final sleep with Hannah, gorgeous to watch them all and listen into some of
their chatter coming from their tent which was not far from the van. One last pack and one last sleep to go!!!
